A two-year, 60-credit-hour after-degree program at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Education leading to teacher certification, offered in Early Years, Middle Years, and Senior Years streams. Requires applicants to already hold a recognized bachelor's degree (minimum 90 credit hours) plus teachable-subject coursework, includes mandatory practicum courses, Indigenous Education and Inclusive Education coursework, and criminal record/child abuse registry clearance.
Admission requirements
A recognized bachelor's degree of a minimum of 90 credit hours (for Early Years and Middle Years streams). (Senior Years stream requires the same bachelor's degree plus 24 credit hours in a teachable major and 15 credit hours in a teachable minor.)
A conferred Bachelor's degree and all course requirements at the 1000 level or higher completed from a recognized institution by May 1 of the year of application.
Minimum Adjusted GPA (AGPA) of 2.50, calculated on the most recent 30 university-level credit hours of coursework completed by February 1 of the admission year. (Only courses graded C or higher can fulfill first and second teachable subject requirements and specialization courses; one D grade (3-6 credits) from COVID-affected terms Winter 2020-Summer 2021 may count toward subject requirements.)
